Books, comics and magazines those things we put in our hands and read.
  • I figured a book thread was in order(I did search nothing thread wise came up)

I, for one love to read. First big book series I read was Harry Potter. I've dabbled with some smaller series which have been okay, read all the Lord of The Ring Books when I was 14. One series which I want to read, is the Chronicles of Narnia.

In the last couple of years, Ive read books based off of Halo, Mass Effect and Dead Space Universes. I also own most of the Halo Books and Comics(in hardcover) and one comic for Dead Space.

Recently I've began reading again, hardcore. I finished the Hunger Games Trilogy and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo(I hate keeping track of that fucking family). I read The Hidden Empire, and need to Read Empire which is apart of the Shadow Complex Universe. I also have the new reboot in the Bond franchise which is set in modern Times, Carte Blanche.

I also own several humour books, I hope they serve beer in Hell, Assholes Finish First and soon Hilarity Ensues and Sloppy Seconds all by Tucker Max. I have the Alphabet of Manliness, The U.S of Eh, Stuff White People like: A definitive guide to unique taste of millions and Why We suck by Dr. Dennis Leary

I also own several graphic novels. Scott Pilgrim and Lost at Sea by Bryan Lee O'Malley( he has a new one coming out next year :D ) and Hopeless Savages

Recently I have been getting into comics, I'm a big fan of DC comics. I try to buy stuff that is post Bruce Wayne's "death" which is otherwise know as Batman Reborn and then Batman Incorporated.
  • Its been a while since I last turned a page but I really enjoyed the off-the-wall humour of Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (book is way better than the movie).
  • I read my Nextbook manual recently, that kinda counts.
  • Last book I read was Stephen King's '11/22/63'.

I enjoyed it. I usually enjoy his stuff.

I hear another Dark Tower novel is coming this April. Supposed to squeeze in between books 4 and 5 or something like that.

While I think that series really petered out in the end, I still really enjoyed 'em and will definitely pick up the new one.

I'm also eagerly awaiting the final book in Robert Jordan's 'Wheel of Time' series.

I've been reading those for like.. 16 years now. It's about time I finish the fucker.
  • All the reading that I've been doing in the last few months have been school related. I just finished 'Orlando' by Virginia Woolf. Can't say that I recommend it. The next thing I have to read is 'Laughter in the Dark' by Vladimir Nabokov. I'm hoping this one will be more interesting.

After this I plan on going back to finishing all the Sherlock Holmes stories and then start on the William Gibson novels that I've accumulated.
  • Anything by Chuck Palahniuk, Rawi Hage, and Ian Rankin.
    Comics.. lets see.

Y: The Last Man, Walking Dead, DMZ, Northlanders, Green Lantern, well any DC... I could go on, but I wont.
  • I'm currently reading 'Damned' by Palahniuk. It's pretty good.

I still think Survivor and Stranger Than Fiction are my two faves of his.
  • i had made a thread a little while ago but it's probably buried away.

I haven't done much reading lately besides textbook reading, but I'd ike to pick up Tucker Max's new book coming out soon.
  • If it counts, being a writer, i read the books i'm working on. And no i didn't publish yet otherwise i'd be rich. LOL

I loved Survivor! Oh what a ride that book was.
  • I don't get to say this often, but in the case of 'Fight Club' I preferred the movie.

I appreciate the fact that he wrote it, but if I had to choose one. The movie, all the way.
  • I dono I am still partial to the book, because the book is well, the book, and when I read it I was SO FUCKING BLOWN AWAY. But the movie is stellar yes.
  • I read lots of books, both gaming and none gaming related. Love the Halo franchise (except for Halo: Glasslands), The Lord of the Rings, World War Z, etc.

My favourite author is Jack Whyte, who does historical fiction. His series, A Dream of Eagles, is my favourite novel series to date.
  • One of my favorite books to date is Rainbow Six. It's a shame that it is hard for me to get into a book.
  • ^Well, they are pretty small..

    ba-dum *tiss!
  • I started reading George R. R. Martin's 'A Song of Ice and Fire' series in early December. Now, I'm about 200 pages away from finishing the first book, 'A Game of Thrones.' It's really good, but I'm a slow reader. Also haven't picked it up in a couple of weeks because I never really think to until I'm too tired.

Ended up getting the first four books for Christmas, so I still have lots to read. Although, I may take a break to read Stephen King's Duma Key in-between books one and two.

Early Tom Clancy books are fantastic....the last few...not so much.

  • Currently reading Forbidden by Ted Dekker. Man, I love this guys novels!
  • I forgot to add I read Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, I want to read the rest of the series.

Think I'm gonna pick up Batman Gates of Gotham by Scott Snyder, who wrote the brilliant Batman Black Mirror, and is currently penning the new Batman comics, which is fucking amazing
