Still Able to Access Netflix after Cancellation
  • Hi all,

    In October I fired up a free trial for Netflix and canceled before the month was up to avoid charges. I cancelled last weekend, and as of today I can still access and use the service via my Xbox 360.

    I have confirmed my account is cancelled and I have not been billed, so I just want to know, is it normal with Netflix for me to be able to access it after cancellation?

    I'm not complaining, just find it really odd.
  • You may only have access until your 1 month free trial is up. After that you should not be able access.
  • hm I had it over the summer, cancelled and I couldn't get into it, just renewed though lots of new shows and movies added
  • I've had my netflix for the last year now and i love it! i watch just often enough to keep me satisfied. Currently going through My Name Is Earl seasons.

  • What date did you start it on? Maybe it expires on the same day that you started it.

    I won't call and complain unless they bill me, but I just want to confirm that what I'm experiencing is not typical.

    What should happen when I try to access the service on the Xbox 360 now?

  • They will bill you after your subscription ends. To be sure, log in to your netflix account through the website and there should be an option to discontinue the free trial check if that's checked. You can also call them if you see a charge on your credit card and they will immediately refund you. (This happened to me and they refunded it right away)

    As I mentioned, I confirmed my account has been cancelled and no additional billing has yet occurred.
