Abandoned MP Games Night

Hey everybody. I made this thread in the old forums called "Abandoned MP Games Night". I had originally posted it in the Canadian General Discussion so some of you may recognize the title (and some of you probably posted it in it as well). I put the thread on hiatus when I started losing shifts because I didn't have the income to buy new titles. Although I am still unemployed, I really wanted to get this thread set up again. I have a few old games (some I even bought for previous game nights), so we do have a few games to start off with!! It lifted off slightly on the old site, and if I could have run it smoother I'm sure it would have been very popular (everyone seemed to like the idea).

I'm dedicating this thread to all those oldies that have been long forgotten about! The multiplayer lobby is still up but there's never anybody on! Don't you wish you could play it once more? Don't you wish you could try it, even? Well, here's your chance.
I've made this thread so we could get a group of laid-back gamers together to play some rounds of those games, for old time's sake (and to have a good time). Every two weeks or so, there will be a new game for us to get a lobby going for. I don't know how it's going to turn out, so bear with me! My aim is to set up the game night for the weekend. I'll post thegames/dates weeks in advanced so you have a chance to go and pick it up if you choose! I'm sure these games are all around $5 - $10 by now.
I, for one, have a few games I got years ago that weren't too popular that you'd never find anybody playing online anymore. I've also got a couple of old games recently that were popular at the time, but are dead now. I'd also like suggestions from you guys on what to play! We will do a vote to determine which game should be next (the one(s) that the majority of people own), and work our way from there. Suggestions are more than welcome, and I'll keep ya'll posted. So, you with me?

It's almost the end of the week but since it's still a regular work night, most people like to come home and relax before the weekend.Previous game nights we had were Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth II (before the servers were shut down -- Wick actually hosted that one), Shadowrun (everybody really enjoyed that one), and Prey (lol only me and one other person showed up for that --- the planning was terrible).Okay, I really hope you guys would like to participate and will maybe help me run it!! :) Tell me what you think, suggestions on what I should do to make the thread better, suggestions of what games we should play, etc. etc.Aaaand... I'll try to participate in some of them. I regret missing the Prey one because I'd like to get some achievements in that.
Gotta' be honest though: I was bored to tears hosting the Lord of the Rings one. Nobody ever showed up and I just ended up playing with a random guy. I regret buying the game to begin with because RTS games really bore me.

Wick - Don't even worry, it was my fault for having such terrible planning with that one. We will certainly set that up again!! Me and .. I think it was either XphR or CroutonCrusader ended up just going for achievements as well (get so many kills with this weapon), but it'd be more fun doing it with more people lol.I didn't have room in my post to mention some of the old games I have:- Prey- Shadowrun- The Orange Box (I'm not sure if TF2 is abandoned)- The Club- Turning Point: Fall of Liberty- BFBC (not sure if that's abandoned either)I'm sure there's more too that I can't think of.

@Wick98: They are definitely great MP games.Totally understandable. I've only gotten a few levels into the campaign and it's really fun, but it would definitely get repetitive.Edit: Thanks @RumGeoff for letting me know about BFBC. Since it's not abandoned, it will be coming off the list of possible games.I also definitely hope we can get some matches of Turning Point going. When I first got the game (upon first release), I only managed to get into one game with one or two people. That was maybe once. It'd be cool to try the MP again!

@DjDATZ - Gears.. man I have not played that one in ages lol. Last time I played (maybe a year ago) there were still quite a few matches so I'll have to see how it looks now. :p@Switch - To be honest, I've never heard of that one. :p Don't worry though I keep all suggestions in mind and get a vote going for the most popular. I also make a list to show all the suggestions and how many people have agreed/suggested a game. I'll keep it in mind for when I am making money again.@Hawks - YES! Man I haven't played that game in so long! It was my favorite on the original xbox, and then when they shut down the servers I bought it for 360 lol. Great game! We'll definitely have to do that one some time (can't believe I forgot about it!)

This is pretty cool. I am a used/really old game hoarder and I have tons of em I haven't been able to play MP on. I would be willing to play sometime if it fits my schedule.

I'm glad to hear that, Escape! Like I said, my plan is to host them on Thursdays (most likely every second Thursday unless somebody wants to work with me on this), but if the majority of people decide that another day would work best for them, then I will change it without hesitation. We could also try to get 2+ nights going with the same game to allow everybody a chance to play it.
That's a good list you've got. I've only got the first 3 but to be honest, I've always wanted to get Perfect Dark Zero. I played the demo a long time ago and had a blast with it. I'll have to look into the other ones in the future.
I don't have a lot of Wii games but if we have any in common I could add you or vice versa. To be honest I'm not on it as much as I used to be but I haven't got any other player IDs or whatever they're called on my console lol. Okay, maybe one.
