Xbox issue
  • So I bought a new copy of Rainbow Six Vegas 2 since my old copy was damaged to hell due to poor caretaking.
What happens is that the ubisoft logo appears and then my xbox will freeze.

I buy this new disk thinking I can finally play Rainbow Six again.

I was wrong, it seems to freeze sooner now.
I cleared my cahche and deleted all my RSV2 items hoping that may be the issue but after being proven wrong again I cursed and came over here.
I then removed my Hard Drive and tried running the game and not a single error.

I will call 1-800-4MY-XBOX but before I do that I figure you guys could toss me some ideas.

  • @Smoreninja According to the Xbox Screen Freeze Solution tool found here: https://support.xbox.com/support/en/us/nxe/hardware/console/troubleshootingconsoleproblems/screenfreeze.aspx

"If removing your Xbox 360 hard drive resolved your screen freeze problem, contact Xbox Support for a replacement hard drive."

Looks like your HDD might be dying :(.
  • Well than I guess I'm gonna toss 20$ to finally play one of my top picks for 360 games.
  • See if you can transfer game saves to USB before its too late !
  • Update for those who care!
So I am currently transfering files right now and the charm about this is that since I have a gift getting occasion coming up (Non-North American tradition) and since I'm normally so hard to shop for my mom decided to pay for my new 60 gig HD and transfer cable. Against my insitance to let me pay for Reach she also paid for that. I figured that I'll do a HD transfer over the weekend since I have more time to do so but my current HD decided to freeze when I play Reach so that wasn't going to fly.

I must say though the transfer cable is highly user friendly but is it worth the 19.99 + Alberta tax? Normally I'm trying to be cheap but since time isn't on my side today I decided it was worth it

You need to ask that about an Xbox 360 first party peripheral?
  • The transfer cable is handy... I still have mine from way back (Free!) and I'll use it if I need another Xbox one day, but if not, I'll sell it on Kijiji.

Which is what I'd recommend to anyone looking to pick one up. Use it and sell it.
  • I wanted to give mine to a friend, but I somehow misplaced the cable. I can't find it.

    It's certainly a handy accessory.
