I want to go see Scream 4 and Insidious. Hopefully this weekend. Really busy with reviews right now.

Tried to get my friend to go last week, but he hates horror movies for some reason. Bah.

Friend told me Fast Five is out this upcoming Friday, so we're gonna hit it up next Tuesday then. I'm a big fan of the entire The Fast and the Furious series, regardless of how cheesy it may be. :P 5 looks to be quite awesome as the entire crew (minus Letty cuz she died in the 4th one) will be on set, so quite a large cast.

Went to see both Scream 4 and Insidious this evening. Double-feature - the best way to do it.

We saw Scream 4 first. It was nice to revisit that series and world, but the movie was just above mediocre. The acting (David Arquette especially) was terrible, but there was a nice twist and interesting ending. Though parts were predictable. Decent, but nothing you need to go see in theatres.

Insidious was really well-made. It was intelligent and had me on the edge of my seat the whole time like a good horror movie should. There were a couple parts where it got overly silly and its main creature resembled Freddy Krueger far too much, but I really liked it.

Watched 'Drive Angry' today...

It's along the lines of what I'd imagine riding through a flash flooding sewer would be like..

Fast and kind of fun if you can ignore the fact that it's all shit.

It's the best 'bad movie' I've seen in a while.. I'd definitely recommend it if you have some buds over for a brainless evening and wanna watch some shit explode.. stupidly.

Saw Fast Five a week or so ago. Was surprisingly very enjoyable. I most definitely recommend it.

Saw Thor this past weekend. It wasn't as good as Fast Five, but was still a good movie and worth while seeing.

Saw Fast Five last Tuesday and while it was /really/ good, it wasn't exactly what I was hoping for. Way too much action and shooting, not enough of a focus on driving, racing & cars. Would have LOVED to have seen that Charger vs. GT3 RS race! The endings were kinda awesome. :P

Was supposed to see Thor on Tuesday, but the gf got lost on her way home (was taking a new route) so we were too late to get good seats. I'm VERY thankful the young lady who was selling the tickets told us there's only about 20 seats left in the theatre, so we'd probably be sitting in the front few rows. We took her advice to heart and left, I'm thankful she was honest with us.

Also got to see some chick bitch out her bf over her phone... She had been calling him for a while, and no answer; she had been waiting at the theatre for over an hour for him, and he never showed. TBH, it was deserved, I know I wouldn't have waited that long. My woman suggested that he might be cheating on her, which sucks for her. She was quite good looking too.

Was alright.. made me want to watch Taken.. but I didn't.. Instead I downloaded Rob Roy. Think I'm going to go on a Liam Neeson stint.

@YourEscape Gotta hit up that drive-in theatre either in downtown Toronto or up in Newmarket.

Also saw Thor this past Tuesday and Bridesmaids yester night. Thor was a good superhero movie, and I enjoyed learning about all his history and background, but beyond that, nothing special. Don't bother with 3D for it, it's terrible. Bridesmaids was okay, the funny parts were really funny but there were also some really chick-flicky parts.

Watched Sucker Punch last night..

It was... ok?

300, Watchmen and Dawn of the Dead were all far better. I'd rather watch any of them.

Also watched The Longest Yard again.. for a bit of Sandler.. and got a bit into Gangs Of New York before I fell asleep.

Recently watched There Will Be Blood which was.. I don't know.. weird. Daniel Day Lewis is fantastic though, which is why I started 'Gangs'.

@Doos I also watched Sucker Punch a couple days ago. I didn't think it was good, but it wasn't bad either. I wouldn't watch it again.

Pretty much anything Pacino was in from the late 60's, the 70's and 80's he was awesome in...after Heat...he kinda started becoming a parody of himself...but...he played Dr Jack Kevorkian in an HBO movie and it was fantastic.

Yes timing and context are really the big thing. Sometimes a word can be fine but other times not so much. I'm not banning any word yet because I think we can police ourselves for now. General rule - if you think something might offend someone, or make someone feel unwelcome here, then dont say it.

Anyhow, watched Drive Angry last night - didn't hate it. It was pulpy and exactly what it wanted to be. If anything it wasnt over the top enough. There were a couple shots with painfully bad effects but thats really part of the pulpiness too - it just wasnt consistent with that so it coudl be jarring. A bit more cheeseball dialog might have helped set the tone better too.

I think I posted it in here earlier.. but I really liked Drive Angry.. it was exactly as you say.

The hotel shoot out (hehehehe.. innuendo?) was excellent.

A lot of good over-the-top shit.. Nic Cage doing his thing and I loved the Agent dude.. who, by the way, would probably make an excellent G-man should a Half-Life movie ever come to be.

Him or a dyed hair, thinner William H Macy.. he's got the face for it.

Oh, I forgot, I also watched Into The Blue the other day... and they really catered to their audience. There is so much Jessica Alba in bikinis in that movie it's almost ridiculous. She's got a drop dead gorgeous body in that flick.

I want to see The Hangover II sometime soon. I've got to get back into Netflix so I can watch more movies. Not a big movie person, and with Netflix I seem to go a month without watching anything and then all of a sudden I watch 3 movies and 5 T.V. shows lol. Needs better selection, that's for sure!

We did that too and I watched almost an entire season of Paranormal State lol. I was like "OMG THIS IS SO WORTH IT!!". Never watched T.P.B. but Kenny vs. Spenny is pretty funny.

I wish they had more T.V. series on there..

Since this is about movies, I've watched The Human Centipede, REC., The Haunting of David O'Reily (?), Growing Op, and some other horror movies on Netflix so far. I seen this 30 minute or so "horror" movie made in Mexico or something, with some necrophiliac morgue guy.. it was fucking weird.
